Oklahoma native, Derek Penix has been tremendously influenced by the Impressionist masters Monet, Pissarro and Renoir. A trip to Europe made a permanent impression on him and since that time Penix has been inspired to capture the light and atmosphere of the cultural landscapes wherever his travels take him. He currently resides in Tulsa where he also finds beauty and inspiration. Through his classical approach of Impressionism Penix captures what he sees with style and charm.
